Jennifer & Todd Baker
Owners of Big October Homestead
Hey y’all! We are Jenn & Todd Baker and we are so happy you are here! When we became parents of two little ones a few years ago, we began to move toward a simpler, more natural & self sustainable lifestyle. Those steps toward living well & faith in God’s plans for our family have led to a calling of providing our community with responsibly produced meat & eggs, empowering other families to be more self sufficient by educating them about homesteading skills, and offering unique rustic decor and gifts made mostly from found & repurposed items.
We live & work on our homestead in Franklin County, North Carolina where we use regenerative agricultural practices to produce pastured chicken meat & eggs on just one acre. We believe you can homestead almost anywhere, whether you live on lots of land in a rural area or in a city apartment! This is a lifestyle with skills that anybody can learn and that the whole family can learn from and get involved with!
In addition to our small farm, Todd is a home health care provider & Jenn leads outdoor, family-centered Tinkergarten classes at local parks.
